MK VIII Oxy Regulator  (pg11 Oxygen gauges 1)

This is a superb Battle of France 1939 dated MK VIII  Oxygen regulator fitted to all the early Hurricanes and Spitfire's up to the MK IX.

You can just make out the 39 date above

These regulators are very hard to source with any wartime date but this a MK VIII A with a 39 date which would see it in action throughout the Battle of France and the Battle of Britain perfect for an early aircraft panel.

MK VIII B Oxygen Regulator 1939 (pg11 Oxygen gauges 3)

Dated 1939 this is a MK VIII B the Mk B was designed for crew station use and so did not have a contents gauge as this was monitored by the pilot on his MK VIII A. This means this was used in early Bombers in service in 1939 including the Wellington and Hampton.

MK VIII Oxy Regulator (pg11 Oxygen gauges 5)

Here we have a really nice complete and original MK VIII Oxygen regulator seen above fitted in situ in a MK IX Spitfire. These oxygen regulators are very hard to find, they were used in all MK's of Spitfire from the MK I through to MK IX. They were also used in Hurricanes and other RAF fighters.

See above fitted to a Hurricane.

De Havilland Mosquito FB Mk.VI  464 (RAAF) Squadron, Thorney Island, November 1944

By November 1944, MM403 was a veteran of 71 successful sorties. Its ninth mission was the famed Amiens prison raid. The aircraft went on to complete 84 missions before crashing soon after take-off on 17th. January 1945.

RAAF Oxygen regulator (pg11 Oxygen gauges 6)

A wartime oxygen regulator used by the wartime RAAF. I have never seen one of these before, the Canadian built aircraft including the Hurricane did use different oxygen regulators in the USAAF style but I did not know the RAAF had variations. I am not sure what this is fitted to but is similar in look and design to the British made MK VIII usually fitted to most RAF fighters.

I have now received information with grateful thanks to Mark Delahay and shown under is the Oxygen gauge in situ in an RAAF Mosquito.

B17 Oxygen regulator (pg11 Oxygen gauges 14)

The Flying Fortress is one of the most famous airplanes ever built. The B 17 prototype first flew on July 28, 1935. Few B-17s were in service on December 1942, but production quickly accelerated. The aircraft served in every WW II combat zone, but is best known for daylight strategic bombing of German industrial targets. Production ended in May 1945 and totalled 12,726.

A nice oxygen regulator used in the B17 bomber.

This is a mint wartime made MK10 oxygen regulator used on all heavy Bombers. This is unusual being American made but with Air Ministry crown probably made under the lend lease agreement. Dated 1942 it is in serviceable order and looks unused.
