Battle of Britain dated Luftwaffe Oxygen Regulator FL 30470 (pg1 oxy)

An October 1940 dated Oxygen Regulator as used in the JU88, Do17, He111 and numerous other German aircraft.

Although no doubt taken from a downed aircraft the entire piece is in very good condition, the only point of note being one missing section of Perspex inspection window which allows the user to check the inflation of the rubber bag.

Still mounted on it’s side wall fitting plate it appears complete with only the oxygen inlet and outlet tubes removed. The Oxygen flow gauge (FL 30534) is undamaged and the flow control valves operates perfectly.

The data plate is clear and shows a manufacturing date of October 1940 and part number FL30470.

B17 Oxygen regulator (pg11 Oxygen gauges 14)

The Flying Fortress is one of the most famous airplanes ever built. The B 17 prototype first flew on July 28, 1935. Few B-17s were in service on December 1942, but production quickly accelerated. The aircraft served in every WW II combat zone, but is best known for daylight strategic bombing of German industrial targets. Production ended in May 1945 and totalled 12,726.

RAAF Oxygen regulator (pg11 Oxygen gauges 6)

A wartime oxygen regulator used by the wartime RAAF. I have never seen one of these before, the Canadian built aircraft including the Hurricane did use different oxygen regulators in the USAAF style but I did not know the RAAF had variations. I am not sure what this is fitted to but is similar in look and design to the British made MK VIII usually fitted to most RAF fighters.

I have now received information with grateful thanks to Mark Delahay and shown under is the Oxygen gauge in situ in an RAAF Mosquito.
